The WVU Cancer Institute will hold its annual Pink Party to benefit the Bonnie’s Bus Mobile Mammography Unit from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 30, at the GOAT Country Roads Pub in Suncrest Towne Centre, Morgantown.

The event will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction featuring specialty items, trips and experiences. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased online at WVUCancerPinkParty.com.

Bonnie’s Bus has provided lifesaving breast cancer screenings to West Virginians for more than 15 years, delivering care close to home for those in rural parts of the state with limited or no access to mammography screenings.

It began its screenings in 2009 through a donation from Jo and Ben Statler. Since its inception, more than 31,000 mammograms have been performed and at least 180 cases of breast cancer have been detected through its screenings. Regular breast screenings can allow for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

Bonnie’s Bus provides screenings to patients in all of West Virginia’s 55 counties. No woman over the age of 40 is turned away due to lack of insurance. Funding for underinsured and uninsured patients is provided through grants and private donations.
