West Virginia State Parks introduce FlingGolf at five locations

SOUTH CHARLESTON — West Virginia State Parks have introduced a new activity: FlingGolf, blending lacrosse and golf for a unique experience suitable for all skill levels.

This initiative, led by Jonathan Bellingham, a West Virginia native and International FlingGolf Ambassador, will be available at five state parks: Cacapon, Canaan, Pipestem, Stonewall, and Twin Falls. These parks are now fully trained and equipped for daily FlingGolf throughout the golf season. In addition to regular play, demo events and tournaments will occur at various parks until October 5.

“We are excited to continue to add fun activities for those visiting our parks,” said Brett McMillion, Director of the WV Division of Natural Resources (WV DNR). “I am thankful WV State Park golf courses will be adding this additional, and family-friendly activity that is easy to do, and integrates well with those playing traditional golf,” McMillion said.

Upcoming demo events are scheduled as follows:

  • August 3 – Twin Falls Resort State Park
  • September 15 – Pipestem Resort State Park
  • October 5 – Cacapon Resort State Park

Equipment rentals and lessons will be available at these parks for those eager to try FlingGolf. Visitors are encouraged to visit or call the pro shop at the respective park. FlingGolf can be enjoyed alongside other park activities, enhancing the visitor experience. For more information, visit FlingGolf.com.

“West Virginia has everything it needs to become a premier FlingGolf destination,” Jonathan Bellingham said.
