Vandalia Health hosts August events to celebrate and unite employees

Vandalia Health’s Davis Health System and Mon Health System organized several events in August to celebrate their employees. The activities aimed to strengthen connections among staff and foster a spirit of camaraderie.

A series of tournaments began at the Morgantown BOPARC softball fields, where a friendly competition took place. Dr. Krystal Atkinson, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of Mon Health Medical Center and Interim Chief Nursing Officer of Davis Health System, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. The National Anthem was sung by Bria Dixon, RN at Mon Health Medical Center.

“Coming together for this event fostered a spirit of fun and camaraderie, strengthening the bonds within the Vandalia Health family,” said Mark Doak, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Davis Health System. “It’s important to connect, laugh and come away with great memories and stronger relationships.”

The celebrations continued with a kickball tournament and pool party at Mylan Park in Morgantown. This event brought together staff from different health systems, enhancing their sense of community through shared activities.

David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System and Davis Health System – Vandalia Health North, and Executive Vice President of Vandalia Health, emphasized the significance of these events. “From clinical and laboratory staff to facilities and support services, together as Vandalia Health, our employees work diligently to provide exceptional, high-quality care to the patients we serve. It is because of their efforts that we remain a top-choice provider for many across our state,” he said. “It is an honor to come together this month in recognition of these efforts to celebrate our employees and their dedication to providing excellence in healthcare.”

The events underscored Vandalia Health’s commitment to recognizing the hard work and dedication of their employees, celebrating their contributions to the health and safety of the communities they serve.
