Davis Medical Center to offer free eye screenings for Healthy Vision Month on July 25

ELKINS — Davis Medical Center will celebrate Healthy Vision Month by hosting an event featuring free eye screenings on July 25 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the DMC Marketplace.

Healthy Vision Month emphasizes the importance of eye health and preventing vision problems. Dr. Misty Wray, an ophthalmologist, and her team will provide screenings at the event.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Wray join us for Healthy Vision Month,” said Chad Ware, Davis Health System Community Liaison. “Eye health is crucial to overall well-being, and this event provides an excellent opportunity for community members to receive essential eye care services. Regular eye screenings can help detect problems early and prevent vision loss, and we are committed to making these services accessible to everyone.”

Dr. Wray and trained professionals will offer comprehensive screenings, including tests for visual acuity, reading vision, stereo acuity, color vision, macular disease, and motility. Attendees will learn about eye health tips, preventive measures, and the latest in ophthalmology.

“Early detection and timely intervention are key to preserving vision, and I look forward to helping our community stay informed and proactive about their eye care,” Wray said.

The event is free and open to the public. No appointment is necessary, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early as screenings are on a first-come, first-served basis.
